Café IA is a French public initiative (part of the National Digital Council) dedicated to educate everyone about IA, through events, card games, films, and more.
They commissioned a short explainer on the energy consumption of data centers: a subject that's abstract, technical, and increasingly urgent. The goal was notably to understand the orders of magnitude that are about to change in an unprecedented way, and the challenge was to make it genuinely easy to digest for any age and any background.
Working closely with the copywriter, I developed a design system allowing the visuals to reinforce the explanation and message throughout the whole film, and be scalable for the future. (EP02 has been greenlit !)

The subjects treated are abstract and different though related.
As one of the main goal was to showcase orders of magnitude, between them, I designed a system to differentiate POWER and CONSUMPTION, both in type and scale, the latter being animated as its value is time dependent.
